Bagels!

IMG_20170607_203409_276

I decided to bake bagels at home and I am so happy with the final result that I wanted to share it with you.

I followed the recipe of Sophisticated Gourmet because it was not using any mixer. Not only I do not own a proper mixer for bread and dough but I really wanted to try kneading.

I used Chapatti flour because where I live in Dubai I did not find easily bread flour – and I did not have the patience to wait until I found it 😀 The result looks pretty good to me, what do you think?

I was happily surprised to see that it is actually quite easy to do. It does take a while because of the proofing time, but there is nothing difficult.

I popped some seeds on some of them and left the most of them plain as I knew I would have to freeze the extras.

That’s it for me guys, I just wanted to share the excitement! Let me know if you try the recipe and how it turns out 🙂

Stories

Hi lovely people!

I didn’t have a chance to shoot anything recently but with the opening of one of my favorites’ shops in Dubai, I thought I would share a peak in my wishlist.

As usual I am in love with the crazy patterns, and the pink and the glittery (shout out to the very unicorn-ish shoes at the end!)

A day at the beach

Beach
Flowers at the beach

Hey guys!
We went to a brunch and so I needed an outfit formal enough to be in public and casual enough to be in the heat and by the beach.
I think those crop tops can be super flattering because they enhance the bust – which is my slimmer part 😀 –  and paired with high waisted pants they do not expose too much skin.
Speaking of high waisted pants, can we take a moment for those – not so discreet – beauties? In case you didn’t know I have a full on passion for loud prints and patterns, so of course, I immediately loved this print.

Blending in the background

The sun is finally back in Dubai so I seized the opportunity to take a few shots in my favorite decor : flowers! How gorgeous are those Bougainvilleas by the way?

I am a normal person: I love to be comfy on the weekends, so I love all the tricks to look somehow put together but still feel like i’m in my PJs.  And this outfit is clearly inspired by that. It is super comfortable yet I think the black is a safe option, I added bright shoes, lips and bag, a touch of gold jewelry and rolled with it. I really like the final look!

Gingham part two

I love the Gingham trend and told you it would be back on the blog! I saw this black and white top, with the frills details and the flared sleeves… love.
One more time, it comes from Zara. I feel like this Spring’s collection was made for me and more generally, over the years Zara’s been very much down my street.

This outfit is completely monochromatic but I enjoyed it that way – for once. I only gave it a kick with the red lips (Sephora, cream lip stain, it’s bomb). Of course I paired it with my favorite combo of the moment : Converse and Betty x Lancaster handbag.

Gingham in the palms

Living in Dubai can have some advantages and we really had a good time taking a few pictures between the palms.

On another note, I am fully enjoying the gingham trend. I love this short dress and how versatile it is: I could wear it on top of jeans as well as tights, giving it a completely different look. This look is very casual, because it is the weekend y’know, but it would easily be dressed up with fancier pants and classier shoes.

I hope you’re enjoying the gingham, because there’s more to come… 🙂

The Mythos dancer

I’ve been looking for a skirt like this one, ballet dancer style, for a while. However to be honest it has been hard to style. It is very girly so I went all the way with a feminine shirt, and paired it with my favorite combo of the moment : leather jacket, leather black Converse and Betty x Lancaster handbag.

50 shades of black

I love that this outfit was so easy to pull out – and as you can see I was not extremely fresh that day! – but yet has so much detail into it : velvet, cotton, leather, suede… And of course a touch of pink!

Have you seen this bag before? I actually bought one of the last pieces, it’s the first bag from the colab between Betty Autier –  leblogdebetty, one of the first bloggers I followed – and Lancaster. I love that it’s so roomy and the studs on it that gives the outfit a bit of an edge!

Crop and Mom

I’ve always said that I would never show my belly and who’s the kind of girl who does that and whatsoever. Well. Who doesn’t change their minds, right? 🙂
First off, I found these mom jeans at Zara in the TRF section. It is the first time that I found mom jeans that fit my figure and that I feel good in. I initially bought them in black and got so much wear out of them; when I saw them in pink during the sales I did not hesitate for a second and jumped on it. I usually wear them with a more “regular” t-shirt tucked in, but decided for this style to pair them with a crop top.

I bought this crop top to wear with a very high waisted skirt, which means that there is basically no skin showing up. With those pants however, it is a different story. I have to admit that I only realised how much skin was showing when I looked at the picture 😀

But because I was somehow conscious that some skin was showing, and because the weather is still quite chilly here in Dubai, I added this bomber jacket. I love the blue on black flower patterns, it brings some texture to the looks without taking all the attention and without being too hard to pair.

With everything that was going on between the crop top and the mom jeans and the bomber jacket, I went for the cool and relaxed vibe of the leather black Converse.

Bare with me on the relaxed outfit as a. it is definitely my style and b. I was running out and about to help my friends shoot pictures for their clothing brand – more on that later.

Thanks for hanging out with me and see you around!
